I am Kevin Parry, the Chair of NEL Parish Council. I have lived in the Parish most of my life and went to Liden and Dorcan schools. As a former employee of Honda I was a Pension Trustee Director, responsible for a £1.5billlion scheme. I have served on the NEL Parish Council since it was formed. I have been a Swindon Borough Councillor for 11 years. I have a broad range of skills having be a chair of the Planning Committee, Safer & Stronger Overview & Scrutiny Committee, Community and Places Overview & Scrutiny Committee and East Cluster. I was the Mayor of Swindon in 2019/20.
I am currently the Swindon Borough Council Cabinet Member for Service Delivery Waste & Transport.
I served as a school Governor for more than ten years between Covingham, Nythe and The Chalet and was the Chair of Governors at Nythe Primary School. I was a Governor at Great Western Hospital and served on the finance committee.
I have successfully completed the ILCA Evaluation and Certificate (Parish Council Clerk), am a Member of The Institute of Leader & Management and have studied Employment Law.
In my time as the Chair of the Parish Council, I have brought in changes to the grass cutting service, increased waste bins, uplifting of trees and improved play equipment.
